Iran to open tourism offices at mosques

Iran is to launch tourism offices to guide tourists at religious sites across the country's southwestern province of Fars.

Two guidance offices for foreign tourists has already been opened in Ali Ibn Hamzeh Holly Shrine and Nasir ol Molk Mosque in Shiraz, a local media report said on Tuesday.

“We plan to expand the offices to all other holy places of Fars Province,” said a religious official, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi.

Noting the province has more than 1400 religious sites, Mousavi adds religious tourism has been adequately taken into consideration in Fars.

The religious official added that the tour guides who are to work at the tourism offices are fluent in different languages.
